Currently lives and works in Birmingham, and is part of Studio Capri.

My practice is autobiographical, investigating personal histories by referencing banal, everyday experiences. Apparently unremarkable events are hinted at through playful use of titles and allusions to everyday scenarios, moments and visual detritus.

Through the act of making I develop a lexicon of materials, surfaces and forms. The materials I use, and forms I make, are often contradictory; a garden paving slab made from individually pressed pieces of chewed chewing gum, large barriers constructed with wallpaper or hand-planed oak reworked to replicate bent railings at a sewage outlet.

Works are constructed of multiple elements, introduced to one another to evoke a landscape or create an unspecific sense of place. Beginning with moments of human intervention; a sign-post torn from the ground, a repeated floor pattern or a damaged railing, I extract and amplify these incidental motifs, uniting disparate objects through my own visual language. The works are assembled playfully, truths are elaborated and the relationships between objects are key.
